ONE
I see the colour in your eyes
even though I am blind
I search but cannot find
the lonesome king of the flies
the colours are fading
apocalypse is nigh
breathe the purples, yellows, reds and pinks
wear them like a badge
the city of lights is not far
I hear of an angel there
she will raise us to the star
her voice so pure and soft
yet still
I see the colour in her eyes
even though I am blind
I search but cannot find
the lonesome king of the flies
TWO
azurite lines cut the world in sheets of blue
sparks fly in dozens and dozens
flung in all degrees and hues
by the will of one alone
we are the same you and i
made of the same stuff
star stuff
celestial
so don't say we are different
we are both harlots, loveless, joyless, unendeared
we are both angels, beauteous, wondrous, adored
we are both two sides of one penny
so don’t say we are different
azurite lines join the world in a sheet of blue
by the will of two alone
